ASU Links

The American Indian Graduate Student Association (AIGSA) is an organization to better represent growing concerns and interests of graduate students at ASU. Our goals are to provide a network of graduate students with faculty members among the American Indian population on campus and surrounding communities.

The Labriola National American Indian Data Center, part of the ASU Libraries, is a research collection international in scope that brings together in one location current and historic information on government, culture, religion and world view, social life and customs, tribal history, and information on individuals from the United States, Canada, Sonora, and Chihuahua, Mexico. It disseminates this information through the use of the Internet, computer databases, and CD-ROM.

American Indian Studies Program (AIS). American Indian Studies is an interdisciplinary program committed to broadening the knowledge of students interested in the histories, languages, cultures, arts and contemporary situations of American Indian nations and people. The program is designed to protect the integrity and identity of the indigenous populations of North America and to create a learning environment conducive to critical and creative thought.

The American Indian Institute was established during the Spring of 1989. It's primary purpose is to coordinate and compliment recruitment and retention services for American Indian students while they pursue their higher education goals at Arizona State University.The Objective of AII is to acquaint incoming students with the university by serving as an information and resource center. Services are provided to assist students in their adjustment to the university through our student support and student academic services components.

College of Law, Indian Legal Program was established in 1988 to provide legal education, scholarship, and public service to tribal governments. It was designed to help train Indian lawyers and promote an understanding of the differences between the legal systems of Indian Nations and the United States. The program has become one of the best in the nation, educating students in Indian law and providing students with practical work experience.

H-AMINDIAN : American Indian History and Culture at Arizona State University is a joint project between Arizona State University and H-NET, H-AmIndian includes an edited discussion list for scholars, academicians, and Native peoples to consider the history, culture, ideas and events relating to indigenous peoples from the North Pole to Mexico. This project has two websites: this one, which includes materials generated by the ASU participants, and one housed at H-NET, which includes the materials generated on the H-AmIndian list.
